Most of you walk around feeling that you are unique, one-of-a-kind, special….but being an identical twin from the womb,
really alters how you view the world, and how the world views you!
Twins like myself, often face the challenge of being seen as a unit rather than as individuals, overshadowing the fact that we're two separate people, with little consideration for our individuality as distinct beings.
One day, upon close observation using a magnifying glass, I gradually realized that the more closely I observed, the more apparent our differences became, sparking my curiosity and driving me to explore even more deeply. Most importantly, it gave me a vital understanding: Beyond our identical appearance, lies a realm of unique characteristics and traits!
Why gestures?
The quantity of words pouring out across countless mediums, have diminished their ability to resonate. The esteem I had for words is gone, and I’ve grown weary of those uttering them.
Gestures are silent, succinct, unequivocal, and precise which is why I obsess over them…trying to unravel what makes them so uniquely powerful.
Skin texture, crevices, nails, fingers, and gestures are my “vocabulary”, and I utilize them to tell the story of both the physical as well as the cultural.
I only use natural materials (Cement, Gypsum) despite the aesthetic and technical challenges that come with it…
a feeling that puts me at peace..spiritually.
The sculptures showcased embody an endeavor to infuse vitality into a timeless mode of expression,
one that remains potent in its ability to connect people. This exploration lies at the heart of my work.
You will find collaborating with me promises professionalism, timeliness, and a warm demeanor.
